My hometown is Blandon, Pennsylvania, a small town that is about an hour’s drive north of Philadelphia. I studied Psychology and Business at the University of Pittsburgh, and earned my Master’s in Educational Technology and Applied Learning Science (METALS) from Carnegie Mellon University. I soon after moved to Cincinnati to start my career with TiER1 Performance Solutions. I’m very grateful to have found a job in which I love my work and the people who work with me.
My interests mainly lie in the field of educational psychology ad instructional design; I’m interested in the nature of feedback and its effects on different individuals, and how feedback can be improved in educational technology to better facilitate meaningful learning. In addition, I am interested in the dynamics of learning environments that affect motivation, and how we can promote learner motivation through instructional design decisions. No matter what kind of project I’m working on, I am passionate about designing engaging experiences for learners.
In my free time, I enjoy going to see live music as much as possible. Although I’m a fan of all music, I really enjoy going to rock, funk, and bluegrass shows. When the winter isn’t holding me back, I also enjoy spending as much time as I can in the outdoors hiking, swimming, and riding my bike.
